Client Background
Simran, a 10-year-old girl from a Delhi slum, grew up in poverty and abuse. Her father ran a roadside kulcha chana stall, her brothers beat her, and she slept in an 8x10 ft room with her family. Her future seemed predetermined: early marriage and dowry debt.
Intervention through Sarvam Shakti
At Sarvam Shakti, Simran found a safe haven. She was enrolled in holistic programs — Bharatanatyam, Yoga, English, Computer Education, Leadership Training, and daily nutritious meals.
Soon, her natural intelligence and empathy shone. She became a leader among her peers, was transferred to a better school, and even made Head Girl — a first for a marginalized girl.
Journey of Transformation
Represented her school in dance and yoga competitions.
Became a paid intern teacher at a premier Delhi school.
Represented Sarvam at national events (Goa, Hyderabad).
Took her first flight.
Earned a full scholarship for a BBA degree at SHRM University — the first from her entire village to attend college.
Today, she is a Yoga practitioner, performer, and student leader.
Key Learning
When given holistic health, education, and safety, children don’t just survive — they thrive into leaders of change.
